the last day in france was spent with a good-bye hiking tour in val d'ajol. i did not want to leave at all. beautiful vosges mountains will stay in my heart & mind forever.
this dog was old, lazy & apparently very stupid. he only had one eye & several scars. when we passed him by he stood up and followed us for at least 20 minutes. we wanted him to go back home, but he did not care at all. we finally had to stop by a house, because 3 dogs came running out, barking loudly, running towards us. we told the owner that we didn't know the dog that followed us. she just nodded & said something like, that it's okay, we should move on, they knew the dog - he'd be trotting back home sooner or later.
and the dog also didn't follow us anymore. later we learned from our landlords that the dog was beaten in the past & this seemed also the cause of his stupidity. he even got a nickname by the people living in the area: 'rond-point' - roundabout. you always had to drive around the dog because he would be sitting in the middle of the cross road and not bother to move at all.
we encountered a lot more crosses.
the view into the valley.
beautiful little stone houses, with perfect little gardens.
she had an interesting tail.
cracks & flowers.
hiding in the grass.
good-bye, beautiful val d'ajol.
after we arrived in germany on a saturday again we didn't do much than having a barbeque with my colleague. on the following monday though, we decided to visit the 'gibber kerb' - one of the many fairs that take place throughout summer in wiesbaden. it was huge. i remember standing in front of some of the attractions, mouth wide open, thinking: no way! i'm not scared of most of the fun rides but some of them are so high & fast that even looking at them gave me nausea. the lights were pretty, though. & the firework that ended the fair were even more beautiful.
i'd definitely would've liked to ride this huge chairoplane, but nobody else wanted to, so i stayed on the ground.
