last christmas.

i wish everyone who reads this a good new year. some say 2011 will be heaven, but in my case, i'm not sure. so at least, i want YOU to have an exciting and successful year! some pictures from last christmas. like always i'm quite late, and i didn't even photograph my presents! i need to do at least a few photos of the best stuff i received. i came home to a real winter wonderland. the snow clearing services didn't do a good job with clearing the streets in thuringia. erfurt, the capital of thuringia, was totally snowed in for weeks. even the trams were shut down, because they failed to clear the snow up, haha. i did snow angels. i'd better be doing something else, 'cause afterwards i had a bad cold. i still cough my heart out, occassionally. the cat loves snow dearly. and dad's sculpture tree did have the perfect snow covering, haha. those silhouettes are good! after new year's i made a walk through wiesbaden. didn't make lots of photos though. i si...

it's christmas season again, for some people that means it's time to reflect the year and calm down a bit, for others it means stress with buying the perfect gifts, or working extra long shifts. for me it is both. i cherish all the free time i still have before the cruel run on our meat/fish/cheese counters starts. i visit christmas markets, meet with colleagues, enjoy the snow but also fear the masses storming in the supermarket, leaving us exhausted and stressed. actually i don't celebrate christmas on the 24th, but more so on the 25th, because i always work on christmas. you could say that not father christmas is coming to me but the american santa claus, haha. anyway those two days off will hopefully do me good, it's like a mini vacation before the stress towards new year´s eve ends the year. maybe i'll do a little retrospect of this year as well, we'll see. here are a few christmas-y photos for you to enjoy ( or not ). these pictures were shot when my paren...

opel zoo.

hello y'all, long time no see! i'm always a bit lazy when it comes to uploading pictures, since it takes so long to edit them. additionally, my internet is not the fastest, that's another reason why i postpone my entries, haha. but, anyway, here is what i was up to the last month. my parents visited me a few weeks ago and we did all kind of stuff, even though the weather wasn't that nice. one thing that stays in my mind for the future was our visit to the opel zoo in kronberg/königstein . it's a wonderful animal park in the taunus mountains showing all kinds of animals like mooses, ice foxes, crocodiles, owls, elephants, meerkats and giraffes. i'd visit this park anytime again, it was so beautiful. all these bright colours are gone now. the weather forecast predicted snow for the weekend. let me introduce 'le dromedary'. side profile. he posed for me in the most delicate ways. what a beauty, isn't he? laughing. aristocratic. curious. and in full beau...
