meadow views towards the aartaunus.
this walk i made with my neighbor lady from downstairs and it led us again to hennethal ( which increasingly is my favourite little neighbor village amongst all neighbor villages around us ). it was another gorgeous walk in the snow, and i gotta say, the snow gods from above were very kind this year to bless us with lots of it! while we now are in spring when this post will arrive, and i am ready to embrace this new season, it´s still nice to reminisce about winter some more.
snowed in pathways.
view towards the newer part of strinz-trinitatis.
i can never say no to this panorama! from basbacher berg towards strinz, limbach & hühnerberg.
when we entered the happern woods every twig and every branch was covered with snow and made it look like we were in the middle of a spider web!
we made our way through a bit of a rough patch of woods and followed only tiny paths at first.
a little rocky area with a view down towards a lower sitting path.
sometimes a view opened up to the wetzelsberg.
once again the beautiful view on hennethal popped up in front of us, this time with a little more snow.
found a little fake snowflake!
a wall of logged wood flanked this road.
snow and rocks - perfect combination 😍
we only passed hennethal on the margins and continued our little walk into the direction of strinz-margarethä. of course always being very nice to any living animal is a must! so we stopped and said hi to this bovine fella.
a gentle soul ❤
snowed in meadows and dark blue woods - in the field sector of the bahnermühle. the bahnermühle was a mill that seems to have stood in the vicinity of these meadows. together with the obermühle, which still stands today, these two mills were formative for little hennethal as a village.
in the middle of the woods we found this strange wooden sculpture! it's still completely mysterious to me why such an exotic looking piece of art was randomly attached to a tree in the woods. no matter the reason, it was a fascinating find!
eventually we made it back on the road to strinz-trinitatis again.
sometimes you wouldn't think you were in the mountains, judging from these very flat fields.
i always love the skeletonal winter trees all covered in snow!
view on strinz again! one of my favourites coming from margarethä.
back in strinz we found a very big boy! we have a local herd of highland cows in the village and every so often you encounter them in various places. in autumn i met them the first time in a very hidden valley, and it was a gang of girls with their calves. this time i met the guys of the family ( though one i missed photographing 😅 ). they are quite impressive!
he looked quite like a little punk with his wild hair and nose piercing 😄
it was quite a nice walk with my neighbor and i hope we can sure repeat a walk together someday soon in spring!
