july: wood walking.

a few pictures that were created while i was doing one of my favourite pastime activities - doing walks through the woods. it was a really beautiful walk, forest flowers were in full bloom, bees and crickets were buzzing, little moths, butterflies and beetles in the air.  and i even found the most perfect sun bleached tree stumps! i love to walk through peaceful forests ( at least when they're not too overfilled with people ) and just concentrate on the sounds of the birds, the wind, the buzzing. i can only say it again and again - it's the perfect tool to calm myself down. thistles have the best spidery blossoms. loving the structure of sun bleached wood. so soft and even. a few grasses were swaying beautifully in the wind, it looked like a cloud of feathers. mothling hanging around on tiny button blooms. i love the little concentrically arranged flushes, tiny pieces of art. how about another moth picture? and a tiny...

music mix august '15 . growth/decay

glashaut music mix: aug.'15 - growth/decay. from glashaut. on 8tracks Radio . life feels to me like a continuing growing experience, but it’s alsao a grwoing decay that i feel happening around me and within me. always meandering between the will to live life fully and with open eyes and curiousity, and the smothering realization and knowledge that my existence is too feeble in relation to other lives and that my decay moves on relentlessly and mercilessly and time ticks off minute by minute, leaving you kind of immobile and static, unable to move on for yourself. but still, hope never vanishes fully, even if it often might feel that way. playlist: claude debussy  . clair de lune cinema strange  . catacomb kittens beach house . myth radiohead . house of cards new order . restless re/search/er . papercut dir en grey . amber fever ray . triangle walks balbina . blumentopf doe paoro . growth/decay kindness feat. robyn . who do you love? ...

july: surprises in hinterland.

my grandmother and grandfather had decided to celebrate both their birthdays in a small village called laucha, which is situated in an area near the city gotha you could easily call urban hinterland. it's always as if you enter a place where time has stopped for quite some time or at least it goes a little slower. my grandparents came to the party with an old trabant, which is the epitome of ostalgie ( a word that derives from east and nostalgia - which basically means that there are things that make you nostalgic for old times back in the german democratic republic. yes, there are things that are still loved dearly and by which people are still extremely fascinated by. you can call it outdated or sticking permanently to the past, but it's actually quite nostalgic and quite a nice way to commemorate the old times. to forget the past, is also to kind of forget yourself. for me, everything vintage and historic is important, because that's where your roots are. oh man, did ...

july: lush flora moments.

the garden of my parents is a real paradise to me, especially in spring and summer ( obviously ). i could photograph things in there forever, just sitting around and watching nature buzz and grow. there isn't much else left to say, but to enjoy the moment. apple tree is heavy this year. raspberries slowly turning deep pink. it's always great to see butterflies in abundance in our garden. it means they feel very comfortable around there, which is a big compliment for a gardener. and bumblebees buzzing around provides for the best summer sound. red admirals are a sight you can see fluttering around very often. blackcurrants . the blood red dahlias are my most favourite flowers. i was really surprised to see garlic hanging on the clothes line. we never grew garlic before, but obviously it's prosperous in our earth. i call this one feather tree. i always forget the real name of it. little succule...
