plombières-les-bains is a little spa town with very much charme! it is just so typically french! small shops, restaurants, little boutiques are scattered all over the town. they have a casino which has its headquarters in the old train station building & little parks everywhere. what i noticed was that it was a rather sleepy town, even at noon most of the shops were closed. i guess it's not that different than from german provincial cities & villages: young people move to the bigger cities like épinal or nancy because that's where the jobs are they want to work in. it's really sad, but i know that problem personally. even though i would've LOVED to stay in my home state there wasn't a chance that i'd get a decent job there. at least in the field i was working in.
i want to return to a rural home later in my life or at least somewhere where the focus not only lies in being fast & efficient & being available at all times.
in plombières-les-bains there a lot of old houses & vacant appartements. my longing for leaving my boundaries was almost unbearable when i looked at some spots.
sign mix.
old street lamps.
the houses were erected very close to each other ( which is an architectural element i really adore - narrow & crooked streets are the results of that - simply gorgeous ).
la rue stanislas.
a list of people who were in plombières-les-bains for health treatments.
view into la rue liétard
the city of thousand balconies.
caught a grass hopper!
the entry of the parc impérial.
i loved this small & slim house. i guess there was one room for every level. perfect maybe, for a single person!
empty patio.
& finally i met cats! french cats seem as elegant & chic as it is said about the people living in france ;)
the wallpapers were really pretty. the room itself was ice cold & damp not really a pleasure to live there. it is so sad to see such a jewel of past living rotting away.
door gates.
a butcher's shop. not open unfortunately.
it looked like an abandoned shop.
a treasury for all antiquitarians.
around noon the heat got really bad & we decided to drive to val-d'ajol to jump into our pool! it was really refreshing. here you have my dear dad posing for a picture, haha.
balcony view.
relaxing & reading :)
mom & dad & beautiful background scenery.
i discovered a cat roaming around on the property next door & i so i had to take a picture ;)
cow tails swinging in unison.
in the evening my mother & me decided to play some badminton & later in the evening, when the sun went down this happened. sun halo! it was really magnificient.
