the bookworm cases . the angel's game by carlos ruiz zafón

hello to the newest addition of mari's farm: the bookworm cases! i decided to open up this section because i'm most likely what you call a bookworm. and because of that, i wanted to share my view on books i'm reading. i'm not always going to write about good books, there's the chance that i also read some crappy ones. still, i think that every book deserves some review, wether it's wonderfully written or catastrophically destroyed. this first edition of the bookworm cases is about CARLOS RUIZ ZAFÓN's THE ANGEL's GAME 'everything is a tale, martín. of what we believe in, of what we know, of what we can remember and even of what we're dreaming. everything is a tale, a story, a series of happenings and persons, which communicates emotions. ' the story starts with young writer david martín who works as editorial journalist for crime scenes at a really not so famous gazette. he wants to be a big writer, after all, he's got the talent to do so...

weekly glee #12 2009.

the elections are over, frau merkel 'reigns' over us for another 4 years. i'm really curious how the new coalition will lead us through these years. but for now i have some really delightful things to show! 1. desertions. old barn / decayed paint # a 1919 carriage house by realbruts - these little houses were meant to be garages and carriage houses. what i don't understand: how can you use these as such? i imagine myself living in them, instead of storeing cars and stuff in it. someone should remodel this as some kind of appartements or a restaurant. too beautiful to be abandoned! # an old, decayed court by alexdoomer2009 - this courtyard is again one of the beauties that russia has in store. the country must be overflown with old buildings and abandoned places. 2. photogenius. tavi gevinson / lady gaga bunny pose # vendula hilkova by irina lis for pink september 2009 - one thing which caught my eyes in this set is the punk styled body. the other thing was the form...

pictures in a nutshell - month september.

it's time for the monthly retrospect in poladroid pictures. it has some kind of theme - autumn. enjoy. new shoes. i visited castle frauenstein, but it wasn't that interesting. mostly, because there were too many people that wanted to go in. i didn't have the chance to have a closer look. i made a autumn walk ( i do these pretty often recently ) and collected stuff for a decoration basket. and i found those wonderful mushrooms. i have dried them and they're waiting for a use in cooking. a wooden swing in the park of castle freudenberg. there is also a second one, the pendulum swing. fall sky. the marktkirche in golden light. fashion show in the Rue - Wilhelmstraße. today is the election of the bundestag. i already voted and am thrilled to see, who's winning. merkel or steinmeier? and which coalition will win: cdu/fdp or cdu/spd. i like politics.

it's not tuesday, but...

hello from autumny wiesbaden! the weather is pretty chilly right now and i think i feel the melancholy crawling into my life. but i have a huge stack of wonderful links coming, so maybe it'll help me through surviving this issue. 1. desertions. murmansk desertion # murmansk marine biological institute by victorprofessor - this definitely does not look like some institutional building, so it's all the way more interesting! i love the vacation residence feeling about these buildings. it must have been wonderful to work here! all the stacks of books and sheets, it's amazing what you can find there! 2. photogenius. warrior from outerspace / bunny woman ( notice the resemblance? tim walker week :D ) # bruna tenorio by geoff barrenger - this arabian-styled photoshoot is just too beautiful! # the lady who fell to earth by tim walker for vogue uk october 09 - actually, i'm a bit of a phobian when it comes to everything out of space, but these pictures let me hope that ther...

weekly glee # 10 2009.

this week i have only a small amount of likeable things. internet is quite boring at times ( even though i'm currently a wikipedia addict and read a lot of stuff about indian tribes and dinosaurs and stuff :P ) 1. desertions. the coal miner / luxurious nic cage villa # thehoodwatch had a lot of wonderful technical areas posted again on abandonedplaces . these industrial wrecks look like great monsters and always remind me of stephen kings saga 'the dark tower'. click on savage mil l & breaker 2 : electric boogaloo & god don't live here no more . # here's again a not exactly abandoned manor. nicholas cage's bel air mansion is up on auction and god, what a luxurious building it is! truly amazing. 2. photogenius. mask / dark twenties. # haute macabre has posted a lot of good photo sets that popped up in late magazine issues! such as: o anita berber by karl lagerfeld for vogue germany october 2009 o asta nielsen by karl lagerfeld for vogue germany octob...

i'm back with a lot of pretty, beautiful and interesting things i discovered the last two weeks. sorry, for the massive overload, heh. lately i seem to find a lot of great architectural designs and i thought i'd open up a new section: architecture & design. hope you like this :D okay, let's begin! 1. desertions. book desk in a hospital /piano in pioneer camp # old houses in the uk by zafania - i swear, the united kingdom must have the most romantic and beautiful little cottages in the whole wide world. this series is about houses which have been shops in former times. i could easily imagine these as some art studio-like complex with flats on the upper floors! i'd move in there immediately :P # abandoned manor of a merchant by alexdoomer2009 - okay, i admit it, i love alexdoomer2009's excursions to russian abandonments. i'm secretly in love with russia, did you know that? this manor is beyond awesome! & click onto more castles here & here . he ...

folkore 009.

folklore 009. that's a 3-day-festival in wiesbaden which started in the gardens of castle freudenberg many years ago and moved to the 'alte schlachthof' near the train main station of wiesbaden. it's a festival for music all underground, indie and alternative ( or whatever you'd like to call it :P ). and all in all GOOD music. i just saw 3 acts this year, since of work, but those were particularly good! the bands were 'fettes brot', first aid kit and kitty daisy & lewis. i made very few pictures, and not of all the bands ( first aid kit missing out, boo! ). illuminated tree. these trash containers were the cutest :3 there was this parcel project going on, where you could take a box and design and paint it for having it then put to a wooden pyramid. i liked this! the bands. fettes brot. fettes brot are a fairly well known hip hop band already existing since the 90ies. i remember my brother always listening to them and being a huge fan. i also remember th...
