may: green hills.

on my last day in homeland in may, before i had to head back to wiesbaden, my parents and me decided to give a tiny range of hills called 'fahner höhen' a visit. actually, an altitude of about 400 meters is not so tiny, but still, compared to the mountains of the thuringian forest it's of course peanuts. the second highest range of hills inside the thuringian basin, it's were local fruit juice producers cultivate their fruit tree plantations,  reaching from apple to cherry trees. especially in spring it is a wonderful sight, a sea of white blossoms emerging over the hills every year. it's a cute little landscape, with good views into the lands of the the thuringian basin. stop the hunting terror. lust murderers out! some environment conscious people apparently had enough of random hunters killing mindlessly. i don't know the situation at hand, but i still loved the trailer for its message and its decrepit state. the patterns on this tree are man made...

may: village walk.

some pictures from a walk through my hometown back in may, when people from our french twin town visited us. ( it's always so strange to call it a hometown, since it's only a tiny village, but whatever ) gravestone on our local graveyard. i think i will try to return this november and shoot some more pictures, as it's actually a really beautiful cemetery. come to think of it, i really should do a walk again and document the whole village at some point. random snake on a rock. st. petri chapel. it was initially a much bigger church, standing right next to the former castle. they used some of the stones for the draw-bridge of the castle in the 30 years' war and then rebuilt it as a little chapel. i'm often very sad that the castle and the area around it didn't survive ( the russians tore it down when they occupied our village ). i would've loved it to grow up next to a castle, i'm pretty sure of that. we always spent our time on the overgr...

may: abundance.

every year it amazes me: spring and its colour explosion. while i adore autumn for the same reason, it is a different notion that hits me in spring. it's rebirth, budding anew, it's an awakening. i love spring for this, as much as i love autumn for the decay, for going underground, back to earth and soil, painted like fire, like inferno, roaring up before it ends in winter. this circle is what enamours me the most about these two seasons, the start and the finish of something, and those two connecting like an ouroboros, metaphorically speaking. round and round, the world dies and is reborn, is reborn and then dies, again, and again, an endless circle. spring brings hope for something new, and it opens your eyes to the beauty of the world, something we tend to overlook quite often. it reminds you of not giving up, even if it is only the desire of getting to see the abundance of colours every year, and drinking it in, fueling your inner well, in hope that it won't dry ou...
