sunset time.

you probably already noticed i like sunsets. for obvious reasons. golden light, shadows, everything's drenched in melancholia. now that spring season is starting it's not long until the summertime sadness sets in. been visiting sömmerda again.  this piano + cat belonged to the exterior of a little restaurant in the city. they wrote the menu onto the piano. cute idea. it was called 'the black cat'. the city hall of sömmerda. walking in the park. crossing a bridge over unstrut river . it's a small river. though it is mostly canalized it's still nice to walk nearby. carvings on wood.

in the snow.

the only place in thuringia where you can find snow in winter at any times is oberhof . thus, we decided to make  a trip there. coincidently ( well, not actually ) there was a sledge dog race going on. and you could marvel at all the pretty huskies and other dogs. oh, self portrait time.  beautiful skies.   winter landscape. the race area. uh-nother self portrait avec le maman :O fat huskies? still were beautiful. yes the sledge riders were children! which was especially remarkable, because it's extremely hard to navigate huskies and sledge dogs. and then we had the poser. the snow was not pretty. but the dog was. he's so majestic. ski lift! tree, cloud, sky.

a cold day in erfurt.

it's nice to visit this town now and then. the inner city with its old houses and cobblestone streets is so charming. this is where my brother lives. not so charming, but alas, people have to live somewhere. brown is shit. that is referred to nazism. their uniforms were brown. totally charming timber framed house by a small tributary stream ( breitstrom ) of the gera river . ignore the bad license plate concealing, haha. i love canards! more timber frame work. it was icy that day. in the middle of the city you feel like you're out by the countryside in a small village. ducks! in the back there is the krämerbrücke . one of the most beautiful and curious sights of erfurt. there are a lot of small shops on there that sell all kinds of thuringian specialties. i love walking on this bridge, their shopping windows are a delight to look at. oh, another sticker with shit on it. this translates to: shitty logo. some of the houses on the krämerbrücke. wouldn't it be nic...

gone down low.

a walk by the river ended with a spectacular sunset. and afterwards we received a call concerning my dear brother. which was the reason, why we ended the vacations in wiesbaden and continued it in my homeland. people, i still can't grasp what happened. but now everything seems shadowy anyway.  walking under one of the bridges that lead over the river to mainz ( schierstein bridge ). view onto biebrich . castle biebrich . made a sweet stop at an italian ice parlour. i ended up with cappuccino and tiramisu. that tiramisu was heavenly. it was most perfect. it even looked deliciously good. i would've liked to devour another one. yum! the chandelier was another great detail! then we walked back to schierstein and discovered this in a factory area. the sunset was gorgeous. rhine sunsets are always so beautiful. the light is just magic.
