plombières-les-bains & cooling down.

plombières-les-bains is a little spa town with very much charme! it is just so typically french! small shops, restaurants, little boutiques are scattered all over the town. they have a casino which has its headquarters in the old train station building & little parks everywhere. what i noticed was that it was a rather sleepy town, even at noon most of the shops were closed. i guess it's not that different than from german provincial cities & villages: young people move to the bigger cities like épinal or nancy because that's where the jobs are they want to work in. it's really sad,  but i know that problem personally. even though i would've LOVED to stay in my home state there wasn't a chance that i'd get a decent job there. at least in the field i was working in. i want to return to a rural home later in my life or at least somewhere where the focus not only lies in being fast & efficient & being available at all times. in plombières-les...

la vie en france.

a few words about my trip to france: we stayed in the vosges mountains in east france. the village i come from has a town twinning with a village ( ramonchamp ) in this region, and the last time my parents were in france ( in may ) two people offered them to spend their vacations at their chalet. my parents thought it over for quite some time until they decided: yes, we are going to spend our first week of vacations in le val-d'ajol , a commune in the vosges département . when we got there we were welcomed in such a kind manner. it wasn't that long ago when my parents did see a. & f. & and it was as if they had a reunion. the chalet itself had all kinds of luxuries: a sauna, a pool & a huge tub. it was all wooden & charming. i remember wood strawberries scattered all over the garden, humming bees and bumblebees, birds chirping & the cows grazeing right next to the chalet. i knew that i would be having a good time in this place. and i assure you, i've ...
