in bingen where the nahe river flows into the rhine river. these last pictures from march are a smorgasbord of various things: a short visit to bingen to visit a friend, a rainbow, two night pictures of places in wiesbaden & some shadow selfportraits of mine. maybe i will post these random pictures more often in the future, at least always then when i only have not enough pictures to warrant a whole coherent post. ( it happens ) it was an ice cold day when i visited a friend in bingen ( it was really early in the month still ). we only lasted like an hour before we were so cold that we returned to the warmth of her home. but the icy atmosphere was still super pretty & mysterious - which is something i love too much to not appreciate it properly. along the banks of the nahe river. that blue mood 😍 we wandered around the little back alleys of bingen, too, discovering old iron gates... ...cobblestone pathways... ...and enlightened suns! ...

peacock butterfly on dry earth. finally, spring showed its brightly coloured head around these regions. after it had been snowing way into mid-march, i was eagerly awaiting the arrival of spring. and when it finally made its yearly debut i headed out to bathe in the rays of the sun and enjoy all the little signs that pop up and tell you that winter is finally done and over. and what better way to celebrate the arrival of spring with a walk? i chose to drive to oestrich ( a district of the  oestrich-winkel  commune ) in the rheingau area. even though nature still was pretty bare, you still could find all kinds of spring things, like crocuses, butterflies and lovely cats enjoying a sun bath! all things that literally scream that it's about to warm up and that soon enough earth will explode in colours again. spring is such a hopeful & positive time. for me, it's comparable to autumn, as this season as well brings so much joy to my heart. even though autumn has this mel...
