february '17: run me through kronberg.

the pond in victoriapark. kronberg  is a very exclusive & expensive little town on the outskirts of the taunus mountains. its exclusiveness also means that it's a very charming place where the quality of life is on high-ranking level. the medieval inner core is especially appealing, but so are the 19th century villas you can find all over the place. while i don't want to live here ( lease costs are exorbitantly high ), it's always nice to visit, though and take a stroll through the little alleyways of the old city. this time around i ventured outside of the inner core to explore more of this little town and that's what you'll get to see now :) emperor friedrich  memorial inside victoriapark. the park is named after emperor friedrich III's wife  empress victoria  ( obviously ), mother to emperor  wilhelm II . she lived in kronberg until her death in 1901. the park is rather small, but it was lovely nonetheless, albeit a bit dreary due to cold...

january '17: white ether.

nature coated with crystals. on my last day at my parent's place i was surprised with a fairy tale country upon waking up. the sun was shining brightly and the frost & fog of the day prior turned nature into something indescribably beautiful, a surreal landscape, a different universe alltogether. i immediately put on shoes and started walking, i didn't want to miss this wonderful opportunity to capture the almost ethereal beauty mother nature had on offer that day. i don't have a lot more to say about these pictures, so just sit back, and enjoy a little bit of my temporarily sugar-coated homeland. crushed ice. the many variations of white & blue were simply breath-taking. it was a sight to behold and something i don't want to forget. moments like this make me feel so glad i grew up in a tiny solitudal village. schlossteich ( castle's lake ) under ice. our village once had a castle, but it was demolished by russia...
