july: harvest & swimming time.

the garden of my parents is definitely one of my number one retreats. i never appreciated it so much when i was younger, but as time goes by, everytime i am visiting my parents this garden fascinates me again and again with its beauty and lush greenery. even in autumn and winter it provides beautiful sceneries. my father loves natural gardens, with lots of flowers, weeds & herbs growing seemingly everywhere. and that's what i love about it, too.  an abundance of fruits and berries grow in summertime and it's always so much that a lot of the harvest can't be eaten immediately. so my mother prepares a lot of jams. sometimes my father presses wines as well. sometimes i wish i could be there all the time just to help with all the work in the garden. butterflies are loving my parents' garden, obviously! they find lots of nectar every year. a red admiral . a fresh bowl of raspberries with a lot of cream is the best little afternoon snack, don...

july hodgepodge.

i think i will do a post every month that is a mishmash of random things, that don't belong into a particular category. sometimes a photoset is just about a day trip or a vacation and when i post random stuff in there it kind of disrupts the overall aesthetics, don't you think? maybe it's just me, though. the moon showed itself from its best side in early july. and also hid itself very well. a storm is brewing. bird on satelite. they are currently building a new congress center right around the corner of where i live and this massive crane is my daily view out of the window at the moment. it's pivoting over the roof of our house a lot, and i was a little bit startled when that happened the first time, haha. chimney roof. there were quite a few rain storms in june, but never something too outrageous. they created the best skies, though. i also finally got around to pamper myself with delicious cupcakes! the shop i got them from i...
