mushroom hunting & random things.

you probably know that i love mushrooms. and especially picking them. and eating them. i can truthfully say that i am a mushroom connaisseur, at least when it comes to the ones you can actually eat. i go for a simple rule: don't eat mushrooms you don't know. and: boletus mushrooms are mostly edible, so if you want to eat wild mushrooms you should check out those. but prepare, there are black sheep in this family as well! this picture is the only proof of the art circus that i visited in september. i loved it lots, much music, very humorous and without any animals. and the circus crew proved to me again: you can do so much more with minimalistic instrumentations. the artists were really professional and you could see the hard work in their performances. the performances just spoke for themselves, without much glitter. lichen. not edible, but very buttery. little strange mushroom furs. a stinkhorn ( or penis shroom in my head, sorry ). in this state it...

shooting stars.

in the summer months various towns along the rhine do a kind of festival called 'rhine in flames'. the main attraction are the ship parades on the rhine and the final fireworks. we visited the festival in the mid of september in oberwesel and i haven't seen such a huge firework in years. it was kind of bombastic. and afterwards i was nearly blind. i'm not sure if i liked it that much, but either way, it was memorable. the schönburg . my mother found this cat sitting in a caravan when we walked to the festival grounds. my cat photoraph nerve itched and this is what came out. we waited for quite a long time already when the first ships came around the corner. and then it started. a last picture of the schönburg in the night.

graveyard stroll.

when autumn rolls in i always have to squeeze in graveyard walks because let's face it: graveyards are beyond beautiful in autumn. it's the decay of the leaves, the nature losing its green & fresh dress that brings out the graveyard so much. death and autumn, it just belongs together, don't you think? when me and n. met up to go on a walk on the old cemetery ( now defunct and used as a recreation park ) it was still very green around us, but nonetheless, fall was in the air and the old stones and sculptures were still beautiful to look at. the building next to n.'s flat houses one of the cutest voyeurs i've ever seen. everytime you look out of the window it greets you with its pink ears and white fur :) in the cellar of n.'s appartement building. there is a big hall with huge mirrors on the wall. i always imagine that in former times there was a small ballet or dancing school that used this room for their lessons and trainings. another image...
