three weeks ago i've visited my parents in thuringia and we went to see a carnival procession. it was a very grey day so all the bright colours made a great contrast! on the next day we visited weimar, to see what the flood of the ilm had done to the well known park . the weather was beautiful. on the way to weimar. the new building of the new apostolic church in weimar. herderkirche ( herderchurch. ) the marstall ( royal studs ). the city palais. bridge over the ilm. in normal times the ilm is a rather idyllic and slow flowing little river. when we went to the park the river's water was flowing so rapidly that ducks used the drifts for rafting, haha. they had to close the park for several days, the floodings reached almost to goethe's gartenhaus ( garden house ). i love the red colour on clear and cold winter days. as you can see, the regular shores were gone. flooding in the park. villa haar . this was the first time, i've seen this house, i never managed to walk t...
